High Victorian sterling silver fish servers

$2,500

A stunning pair of High Victorian sterling silver and ivory fish servers with marks for Birmingham, 1880, Hilliard and Thomason, makers who specialised in small exquisite items; their novelty nutmeg graters were particularly sought after. Their premises were on Spencer Street, Birmingham.

Every detail of this pair of servers is exceptional, with the ivory handles carved to resemble coral, and the pierced and profusely engraved double-struck silver tines and blade, with the latter bearing a beautiful morning glory engraved pattern to both sides.

Measurements: 24cm and 31cm length respectively, 248 grams total weight.

Excellent antique condition with minor wear overall commensurate with age, marks well-struck.
