Here we have a beautiful antique Irish George III large sterling silver hook-ended serving spoon with marks for Dublin, 1776, William Ward. The latter was active from 1772 to 1810, and his premises were first on Great Ship Street and then later from 1804 onwards on Fleet Street.
Engraved with a crest depicting an arm in armour embowed holding in the hand a sword proper. This is most likely the Kane (sometimes spelt Keane) family crest, which had several branches immigrate from Ireland to Australia and New Zealand in the 19th century.
Measurements: 31cm length, 133.3 grams.
Very good antique condition with minor wear overall commensurate with age. Marks crisp and well-struck.
