Art Deco perfume bottle

$74

Vintage Carven ‘Ma Griffe’ perfume in Art Deco bottle with original box.

Marie-Louise Carven was a Parisian couturier. She launched the perfume Ma Griffe aimed, unusually, at young women – in 1946.

Ma Griffe means ‘my signature’ and for its debut, hundreds of little green-and-white parachutes were dropped from an aeroplane onto the centre of Paris, each carrying a little sample of the scent. It was said that ‘the lingering scent of Ma Griffe floated everywhere: at the Opéra, at charity balls, at the most fashionable sports events from Deauville to Monte Carlo.’
