A fine and rare Loetz glass bowl, the interior decorated with a green and blue ‘crackled’ design graduating down to a deep blue with metallic ‘threading’. The undulating applied rim and three ball feet in cobalt blue glass.

Shape number * PNIII-616. This shape is usually associated with the designs of the artist/designer, Michael Powolny. He collaborated with Loetz in the 1900s up until WWI. He produced a series of designs and shapes that remained in Loetz’s repertoire that included the ‘Tango’ series, which was usually vibrant orange glass contrasted with black or cobalt – rims, handles and feet. This bowl shape is often seen in the Tango series.
Unsigned. Typical polished pontil mark to base.
