Inspect dozens of vintage caravans on the ‘Nats’ Open Day
Every two years, vintage and classic caravanners from all over eastern Australia gather to spend a week together in an iconic Australian location. We book out almost an entire caravan park to create a ‘Vintage Village’ of vintage caravans (built or designed before 1970) and classic caravans (built or designed 1970–1979).
In 2026, our tenth biennial event is in north-western Outback NSW – Big4 Opal Holiday Park in famous Lightning Ridge. Situated in a quiet bushland setting in Black Opal Country, the park is only minutes from the heart of Lightning Ridge and 200 metres from the famous Artesian Baths.
Every Nationals has an Open Day on the Sunday welcoming members of the public to inspect over 100 caravans from the 1930s to the 1970s, all decked out in the accessories of the time. Take a trip down memory lane or discover how previous generations of Australian families spent their holidays before the days of affordable air travel.
Entry to the Vintage Village on our Open Day is free to everyone.
