Beyond the antiques, Leven Antiques is also home to the Fern Oasis—a specialist fern nursery and peaceful display garden nestled alongside the main store. This living collection features over 50 species and cultivars of hardy, cool-climate ferns, including the rare and unusual from Tasmania, New Zealand, Japan and North America. All plants are grown on-site and available for purchase, from small size or advanced specimens. As you wander through the Fern Oasis, don’t miss our frog and tadpole display, a unique feature of the nursery that delights both children and adults. Here, you can observe the lifecycle of Tasmania’s native frogs up close, including the elusive Tasmanian Tree Frog (Litoria burrowsae), a vulnerable species protected within our carefully maintained habitat.
