How many valuable objects have you walked past because you did not know what to look for? Antiques Arena Academy helps collectors and dealers develop the knowledge to recognise opportunities, judge purchases more confidently and avoid expensive mistakes.
Walter O’Neill has spent more than thirty years in the antiques trade and still buys, researches and sells today. The Academy documents over twelve years of that working life, giving members access to the decisions behind the purchases.
In hundreds of raw, unscripted videos, Walter shows what he bought, investigates its identity and value, and shares what he learned as he learned it. The wins are there, but so are the mistakes, uncertainties and discoveries that changed his understanding. You follow the research and reasoning, not simply the finished answer.
Videos range from fifteen minutes to two hours. Subjects include identifying ivory and eighteenth century drinking glasses, alongside hundreds of haul videos examining real purchases. Longer discussions take a detailed dealer to dealer approach, exploring the objects and the thinking behind them.
These are recordings of real trade rather than classroom lessons. You can explore a subject before your next buying trip, revisit an identification discussion or follow purchases through the learning they prompted. There is no fixed timetable or requirement to watch everything.
The aim is to help you recognise more, buy with greater understanding and learn from mistakes without having to pay for every one yourself. A single overlooked detail can change a buying decision. One worthwhile discovery or avoided mistake could be worth more than a year’s membership.
Membership costs £25 per month or £250 per year, in British pounds (approx. $47 per month or $475 annually). First time registrations qualify for a seven day free trial. Watch the free sample videos on the website to see whether Walter’s approach suits you.
