Art Deco Clarice Cliff teapots and tableware collection Theodore Bruce Auction

Art Deco Collection Auction

21 July 2025

to 5 August 2025

A highlight of this outstanding Art Deco Collection is a beautiful selection of teapots and tableware from English ceramist Clarice Cliff. Born in 1899 in Stoke-On-Trent, known as ‘The Potteries’ for its long-established ceramics industry, Clarice joined her first pottery at age 13, and by 1927 had her own studio at A. J. Wilkinson Pottery. She was appointed Art Director at the company three years later, and it continued to produce her pottery until 1964. Today, Clarice stands as one of England’s most innovative and collectable ceramicists.

The auction will feature Clarice Cliff pottery from the 1920s and ’30s, including the highly sought after Bizarre Ware and Fantasque ranges, plus Shelley & Royal Doulton porcelain, Deco cigarette cases and compacts, mantle clocks, perfume bottles, trays, lamps, furniture and decorative objects.

Also on offer – a fabulous selection of non-fiction books and novels, including first editions from Raymond Chandler, Patrick White and Ian Fleming.
