At Book Appraisal & Conservation Australia (BACA) we love books. We also love helping people learn about their books and how to take care of them.
We can provide conservation and repair services for a wide range of paper and textile items; we use only conservation grade materials and methods and work with Burra Charter and international conservation guidelines.

BACA has been providing conservation advice, management and research services to the public and private sector since 1996 with a specific focus on books, ephemera and textiles, along with detailed palaeographic analysis and signature authentication.
We also provide research services, collection cataloguing and disaster management (for books).
Some of our specialist conservation skills include dust jacket restoration, leather-binding rejuvenation, historic pigment matching, reversible paper repairs, cold gilding on metal, embroidery and general textile repairs.
We also have a range of specialists we can recommend in other areas, such as bible repair and recasing.
