Born Ladislav Gustav Jung in Czechoslovakia, the late Dr L.G. Jung (a.k.a. Henry Young, 1925-2005) was a lawyer and opera singer prior to emigrating to Australia, where he honed his expertise in Asian ceramics, becoming a well-known consultant to antique stores in Sydney during the 1970’s and ‘80s.

At auction for the first time, this  outstanding collection includes ginbari and plique-à-jour cloisonné, Chinese & Japanese Imari ware, Chinese silver export ware, Famille Rose and blue and white porcelain, Qingbai celadon and bronze figurines, plus Delft chinoiserie porcelain, antique Persian rugs and books on Asian, African and Oceanic art.

Among the highlights is a 19th century champlevé cloisonne dragon charger attributed to Ferdinand Barbedienne, with a central blue dragon, flaming pearl and celestial cloud, fish, lotus and lily motifs, in gilt metal with a trifooted mount.
