The ANZAAB Sydney Rare Book Fair is Australia’s premier event for collectors, scholars, and lovers of rare and antiquarian material. Organised by the Australian & New Zealand Association of Antiquarian Booksellers (ANZAAB), the fair brings together leading booksellers from across Australia and abroad, all of whom are members of ANZAAB or the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB). Held in the Glasshouse at the State Library of New South Wales, the fair offers a unique opportunity to browse, purchase, and learn about a wide range of rare and collectible items in one of Australia’s most iconic cultural institutions.

Visitors to the fair can expect to find an impressive array of material spanning centuries and subjects: early printed books, fine bindings, first editions, travel and exploration narratives, Australiana, literature, science, art, maps, manuscripts and ephemera. Whether you are a seasoned collector or a curious newcomer, the fair caters to all levels of interest and experience. The exhibiting dealers are passionate experts in their fields and are always happy to share their knowledge, answer questions and help guide new collectors.

The ANZAAB Sydney Rare Book Fair is more than just a marketplace – it is a celebration of cultural heritage, scholarship and the enduring value of the printed word. With a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, it’s an excellent opportunity to explore the world of rare books and discover the stories that live between the pages.The 2026 fair will open from 6pm – 9pm on Thursday 22nd, 10am to 5pm on Friday 23rd and 10am to 5pm on Saturday 24th of October, coinciding with the State Library’s rich program of exhibitions and public events.
