Une Belle Chose by Curium

Garry Stylianou has been an antiques dealer for nearly 30 years, specialising in French decorative art from 1880-1950. He studied Fine & Decorative Arts in London and Paris, then returned to Australia to embark on a career in antiques.

For 15 years Garry operated the iconic Armadale Antique Centre in Melbourne. The Centre housed 40 independent antique dealers. The sale of the building and subsequent development of the site forced the business to close.

Now dealing online, in person by appointment and exhibiting at antiques fairs around Australia, Garry created the ‘Une Belle Chose’ (a beautiful thing) website to showcase a carefully curated collection of French and European decorative art with an emphasis on French Art Glass. The works of Emile Gallé, Daum Frères, Charles Schneider and René Lalique are represented among other notable masters of the French Decorative Arts in glass, ceramics and bronze.

Regular buying trips to France ensure the collection remains unique and that the pieces have not previously appeared on the Australian market.

A member of the Australian Antiques and Art Dealers Association. (AAADA).
