From the mid-century is this rare sleek minimalist sculptural eight-arm taper holder designed by Swedish sculptor Jens Quistgaard for the American firm Dansk International Designs. Famously, Quistgaard sculpted his own toys from wood scraps until he received blacksmith tools at the age of 14, when he began making jewellery and knives. Quistgaard remained the principle designer for Dansk until the 1980s.
