A fine Art Deco celluloid hair comb set with brilliant, uncommon salmon-coloured rhinestones on a dual-colour celluloid background in a traditional geometric shape with fine filigree design. The lower forks curve gently to secure the hair, with all four spokes joining and rising into the upper filigree peaks at the top of the fan. The vertical lines and all peaks are encrusted with the original finely cut and faceted rhinestones, all in sparkling condition with only two or three slightly dulled with age, not readily noticeable.
Excellent presentation with no damage to the celluloid or rhinestones. Dimensions: overall length 16.5cm x 14cm wide; forks 3.5cm across with 7cm long prongs. America, c.1920s.
