When you’re afraid of the water, learning to swim is a Big Adventure. But don’t worry, Calypso the Cat is here to help. Just make sure you don’t get your head fur wet!
This is Calypso’s story about how she helped her girl Tallulah overcome her fear of the water and learn to swim. Tallulah learned breast-stroke, back-stroke, and side-stroke.
She learned how to float and how to hold her breath underwater.
But she also learned to doggy-paddle. How shocking! Why would you want to learn to doggy-paddle? The kitty-paddle is much better.
Calypso is a sweet, bossy, clever little cat who lives with Tallulah in 1920s Art Deco Paris. She knows all the Important Cat Rules off by heart and has an answer for everything.
Tallulah travels around the world having adventures and Calypso goes too, to keep an eye on her. She helps Tallulah to be brave and fierce and independent.
Calypso’s stories are about facing your fears, overcoming obstacles and not being afraid to do things your way. Young or old, anyone who knows and loves cats will recognise their own furry friend in Calypso’s attitudes and behaviour.
Calypso’s books are illustrated in the lush, elegant, French Art Deco style. They’re attractive to children and adults alike.
The reading age is 6-12, but if you enjoy reading to your younger children or grandchildren, you’ll both enjoy Calypso’s adventures with her girl Tallulah.
