A striking Moorcroft Pottery plate featuring an elegant peacock with its magnificent tail fully fanne, rendered in the classic Moorcroft tubelined technique. The design displays beautifully layered feathers with eye motifs in soft tones of blue, cream and green, set against a rich emerald ground. The central peacock is finely detailed with subtle shading and delicate outlining that highlights the craftsmanship for which Moorcroft pottery is renowned.
The raised tubelining creates a sculptural quality to the decoration, while the lustrous glazes give depth and brilliance to the colours. The sweeping peacock tail radiates across the plate in a dramatic symmetrical design, making this a particularly eyecatching decorative piece.
To the base are the painted and impressed Moorcroft marks including Moorcroft Made in England and the WM monogram for Walter Moorcroft. The plate is individually numbered 11 of a limited edition of 500.
The piece remains in excellent condition and is presented with its original Moorcroft presentation box.
