Silver decanter labels

$275 each

A group of four silver decanter labels for Sherry, Brandy, Port and Vodka.

When wine was served in the 17th century, bottles and glasses were kept on the sideboard and handed back to the servants for cleaning and disposing when they were finished with. However, in England it was traditional for the men to keep drinking after wives and family members retired and various wines were passed around the table in these times. George Ravenscroft, who was a prominent promoter of the English glass industry, developed the idea for the decanter to store the wine – and from this we have the decanter label.
