A very interesting turtle shell Continental cross charger flask by F, Gertner, which was a souvenir for a German Count.
This is a large shell and brass flask with four suspension rings measuring 9 ½ inches. The body is held together with 19 metal rivets.
The adjustable charger is marked ‘ F GERTNER / PBAC ‘ and the throat is engraved ‘ Andenken 1864/Ed. Graf Sporck ‘ roughly translated ‘ Souvenir 1864/Ed. Count Sporck ’.
The flask is in good working order and in excellent condition with only a few scuff marks on the body.
