Meiji bronze Kagami geisha mirror

Very attractive Japanese Meiji bronze Kagami geisha mirror. A traditional Japanese hand held mirror, the Kagami was often used by geisha during the Edo to Meiji periods. It has a polished bronze reflecting surface and a decorated back, often with lucky motifs such as cranes or turtles.

A silver plated biscuit barrel with engraved decoration made in England for Dunklings Melbourne, c.1900. Dunklings was a prominent jewellery manufacturer and retailer established in 1874 by German immigrant brothers Julius, Gustav and Adolph. They were importers and retailers of luxury goods.
