Rare 18th century French ‘Cartapesta’ Corpus Christi
A museum quality papier-mâché figure of Christ, hand carved and polychromed, featuring rare inset glass eyes. Discovered in a barn in the village of Montignac, Dordogne (c.1790), this ‘sacred fragment’ likely survived the French Revolution. 32cm high.
